The paper jams all the time, whatever you're using - the ink leaked from the back, the paper fed several at once giving you partially printed pages - it would suddenly, unaccountably go incredibly slow and now it won't print at all.
However many cleans it had for ink, the picture in colour was utterly distorted and ghosty. It has not been pushed particularly hard or mistreated and neither has it had the wrong paper fed into it. Sadly we lost the receipt and have no recourse - Beware! Rated 5 out of 5 by Tonypop from Okay Been very busy, just got around to printing photos.
Printed fine on plain paper and gram matt photo paper,A3 and A4, , but jams every time I try gram other glossy paper. Could buy on line but will not commit my bank details to the ether. I am 75 and old fashioned.
Rated 4 out of 5 by John70 from An economical A3 printer I have had an A3 printer for several years, but the bulk of my useage was for A4, which meant that whenever I used the A3 printer it had ink problems due to lack of use.
The Brother has overcome this problem and is being use for all output. It is fine, but the real advantage is with Technical Support. I had a problem setting it up to run wirelessly, as my PC is hardwired to my router.
Support was fantastic, immediate response, knew what they were talking about and solved the problem Rated 4 out of 5 by jw from Great value printer I needed an A3 printer to start working from home and decided to go for this as it seemed to have the least reported problems compared to other brands and I had a very tight budget. I had no problems setting it up to connect wirelessly to my PC. Just followed the instructions.
My documents are sent very quickly when I send to print. The build quality is far far better than I expected for the money. Perfectly good for my needs. I don't run a publishing house and need it for the odd power-point presentation, but mostly excel and word stuff. Given the cost, build and usability I am definitely more than happy with it. My old printer was working fine but was A4. I have the new one up and running and it is great.
Prints A4, A3 well, prints good quality photos even at A4, copies and scans A4. Have not used the fax, so cannot comment. I had no problems setting it up, connected to my wireless network with one click of the button on the router - simple, even for me!
It is much quieter than my old one, is quick to print and does not loose connectivity when laptop goes in to hibernate. Also like the size, thought it would be cumbersome, but fits exactly where I had the previous printer. Features I like about it is-: A The wireless was really easy to set up on my pc and android tablet B Prints automatic double sided on virtually any kind of paper - id does slow it down a bit but that is not an issue for me.
C Prints on A3 and thick photo paper with no problem. D The touchscreen interface is really easy to use and very responsive in comparison to another printer that I have used in the past. E I used the automatic feeder to copy and upscale an A4 page into an A3 and was very please with the quality of the copying. Rated 4 out of 5 by Cliffrat from Let down by minor things A brilliant all-in-one packed with features, very versatile and easy to use.
Niggly litltle things take a bit of the shine off though like; Why are the paper guides so flimsy? For posters it would be useful to have waterproof ink like the Durabrite of the printer it replaced. The fax function reset to autodial after a power outage and sent hundreds of blank faxes to the same number before I realised.
Not mainstream bits - apart from the ink - but detract from an otherwise great experience. Rated 5 out of 5 by Drek2c from A compact style A3 printer We have been looking for a small footprint A3 printer for sometime now, and this one came up as a special price at Costco. We read through reviews, some of which talked about paper jams.
So far so good on this score. The set up was easy, and the wireless connection was only troublesome because of our network security. Very quick in comparison to our other printers. Double sided printing, multi page scanning; loads of other features not tried yet.
